Trans problem?

We have a 1999 mercury tracer. About 2 weeks ago While driving the car it started acting funny. It acted like it was losing power. I think i have it narrowed down to the transmission. At first if you drove it with the over drive it acted like it would slip. Went to normal drive and it was fine. The other day it started acting the same way. Does that sound about right? If so about how much do u guys think a rebuild for it would be? Also the car has alittle over 193 thousand miles on it

could u guys find any rebuild kits? all ive found are overhaul kits for racing

those cars have the same POS front wheel drive trannys as the Taurus, Escort, and the list goes on.

my mom has that same car and her Reverse squeels. dont know why.

Seems the newb came out in me. Let my papaw drive. ( has worked alot with cars) and turns out he thinks its missing. Gonna look more into it after we eat
