Used rubbers

Looks like I'm going to have to reuse the original window seals on my canopy .
Does anybody know a way to revitalize the rubber. Especially for flexibility during installation. I'm thinking of putting it in a big pot of near boiling water just before installation.

the main way i know of is Vaseline/baby oil. but it dont work very well on really old super cracked rubber. decent rubber it helps on

I'd say using a conditioning oil would be the best bet. Getting it hot will definitely make it more pliable...but I'd worry about it getting super hard and shrinking fairly fast (perpetuating the hijack).
