Well, its that time. New web based classes are out for the 6.7. Gotta wait till I can do them at work (they don't like dial-up)

silly question out of the blue...
How long is a stroke on the 6.0, 6.4, and the new 6.7?

RyanI can tell you that the 6.7 has a 4.25" stroke, 3.90" bore.

Have you seen/worked on a 6.7 yet? I haven't paid any attention to 'em at all, so I don't know if they're out yet or not...
Just thinking that it's a whole lot easier to understand what they're trying to tell you if you've seen one before...

Ford doesn't need that again.....

I can see the logic behind that...but I can also see how it could turn into a nightmare for the guy trying to take one apart and put it back together.
What are your thoughts on that design?

Ryannope! remember, its reverse flow (the exhaust ports are top center)

theres a different turbo for the pickups and the chassis cabs.

wow, now i am really intruiged vince... Explain this reverse flow to me, where is the intake if the exhaust is in the center. Intake on the out side of the heads? Make for an interesting exhaust routing i would think.

Is there any advantage from one to another?

Is there any advantage from one to another?the pickup has the "dual" turbo, the chassis cab has a single vgt with a wastgate.

So what does the actual intake look like?
Is there a seperate intake for either bank?

You got an engine pic diagram by chance vince?

You got an engine pic diagram by chance vince? One filter element in front of the pass battery. CAC is water cooled.

Theres several messages in the instrument cluster. Most dealing with diesel exhaust fluid. Telling you how many miles till the tank is empty, some saying "engine shutdown in xx seconds". If you use improper fluid, it'll tell you. Theres even an "environmental sensor" in the pass side outer mirror. Problems with the dpf if the wrong oil is used. B20 is permissable.

Wow, a real TA finally in a pickup, instead of TAAC. Are they using a "seperate circuit" for the aftercooler and the oil cooler or common circuit? Your answer may explain the HP/TQ numbers that are rumored.

Vince, I understand that there is a line heater for the DEF since it can freeze. Is there also a heater for the DEF tank? If the DEF tank and line are frozen it's going to be a few minutes before the truck will do anything more than idle, right?

Theres an auger that drains the lines after shut off to keep the lines free. Remember, urea is caustic.
