Engine rattle with low fuel

Hello all. New to this posting thing. Have a '03 f-250 w/7.3l. When fuel is 1/4 or approx. 80 miles left showing on overhead console trip odometer, engine rattles real bad. Dealer replaced fill tube and bell shaped strainer below fuel pump in tank. Didn't help. Beginning to think the computer that figures the remaining mileage in a tank needs recomputing. Any ideas?

I've had a few trucks that get 1/4 tank that wouldn't run, replaced the pickup assembly in the tank and works fine. Think it had something to do with the checkvalve in the tube.
