Recalibrating the Spedo

Id just drive it on the highway and go 60 and have a car thats stock follow ya and tell ya what the speed is and then you can just remember that the speedo will be 5 or 8mph or whatever it turns out to be slow at 60. Also get a tach to tell ya what your rpms are. I use the tach as much as the speedo to tell how fast im goin.

I think when you recalibrate the speedo,you have to do a speedometer gear swap.It's kinda like how you figure out the gear ratio.Maybe someone else who knows a little more about it can chime in.

Theres a gear that hooks onto the end of the speedo cable inside the transmission. They have different tooth counts on em but im not sure of the exact way to calibrate it. My dad always took em in to get done.
