I've got a wiring diagram for a '93 that shows the key-in-ignition circuit for the chimer to be black/pink. Anyone have a wiring diagram for a later 90's or early 00's model?
I have a '97 factory service manual at home, I can look it up this evening.
.
For a 1997 Explorer it looks like it's still black/pink.

Whatchu doin with the key-in-ignition wire anyway?

Cutting that bad boy...sick of hearing it when I want to open the doors and listen to the radio.
I've got the keypad on the door and never lock them 'til I'm outside anyways, so I should be able to avoid any boneheaded maneuvers. :p
That's cool. I'd thought about doing that before also, but was unsure if it would cause any other problems with the GEM. I'll try it too to get rid of the noise.

Cut it. No side affects other than my (already struggling) dinger box has ceased to irritate me when the door is open.
