Well, after constant trouble with breakdowns and backhauls, I have decided to part ways with American Ramp Company. No more skateboard parks, no more flatbedding, no more harassment from Todd just because I still make money when the truck set still... Just time to move on. I am spending the next couple days in the KC area, Kansas City KS to be exact, and hope to find our exacerble inveterate postulate of Potential ORATTLEBAN and see if he indeed does live in the holes he digs.
I'll keep you informed...

Been cooking for quite some time, actually. Just had to make sure all my ducks were in a row and that I've been paid all that was due me.
Lemme know... I'm free the rest of today and then tomorrow evening after dinner... but I ain't got any wheels!

I'm sure you'll be just fine Tom. When Hitlory gets elected there will be plenty of social programs to help you out.
ahhh oops, wait are you illegal? or at least hispanic....
Sorry your white and screwed...

I figure if Hitlory gets elected, I'll switch over to haulin' fertilizer outta DC... that oughtta be good haulin'!
Thanks, Scott... I am no longer afraid.
Seriously, thanks for the well-wishing. In trucking, you don't really change jobs, just the name on the door!

I reread that. You don't have wheels? I'm gonna need some elaboration. I think I work tomorrow evening, but have tonight free. If you don't have wheels... Well, KCK is sorta far away. Up in the air right now.

As much as I was trying to squeeze it into the schedule, I don't think I'll be able to make it anywhere. I guess I'll just have to wait till september to see anyone.
Tom, who are you going to work for next?

Butler Transport, here in KCK.
Like I mentioned, gets me away from flatbedding; I have a couple deteriorating conditions in my left arm and between the strapping, tarping, climbing, mechanical repairs and other stuff it was getting worse. This will be dry van freight supposedly 100% no touch.

Tom. you'll do fine. you need not haul for others and break down. if i break crap and get stuck, it's my stuff i broke.
i think you'd rather do the same. Good luck with any path you choose to drive your truck up.

Well if you decide that butler is no good, let me know... Mom works at Yellow Transport and might be able to pull some strings or at least let me know if there is a driver shortage.

Tommy, Tommy, Tommy. You leave the door SO wide open don't you?? Well, considering the circumstances, I'll leave it this time. ROFLMAO
Have you tried the great Potentate from the "other" site. Hell, he's driven all the way down to Lebanon from there just to meet the great Vince. I can't imagaine he wouldn't drive to KCK to meet you!! Give'em a shout over there!!
I don't think I've heard of Butler before. Are they more local or long haul??
Good luck, not that you need it. I know you're a good driver and an ***(et) to any company. Ok, so I couldn't totally leave it alone!! ROFLMAO

Well, my attendance here HAS been spotty, I know. I have tried on a few occasions to log in and my interstate host server was going gaga for some reason.
I have been running pretty steady, and find myself enjoying myself so much more! Many of my aches and pains have subsided and I have even found myself being a bit more interdependent with other drivers. I would have to hit the road so hard with ARC because of the product always getting out at the last minute that I had become a "lone wolf" of sorts, never stopping and chatting with other drivers or even giving much roadside assistance.
This is definitely a good move for me. I do miss my pickemup, tho...
Brian_B
07-27-2007, 10:31 PM
Good to hear Tom! You miss what?
mrfixit

Pickemup... PICKUP. always called my old horse that from day one.
Brian_B
07-27-2007, 10:38 PM
What has that got to do with not driving a semi for ARC? Was it a company pickup or something? Maybe I just need sleep or something because I am lost.
mrfixit
07-27-2007, 10:42 PM
I am sorry... guess I didnt clarify. I am spending more time on the road, less at home. My pickup is at home, so I don't get to see it much, lol. I was home this past weekend but only for 24 hrs, and that was filled with taking care of the yard, putting my belongings in my new peterbilt, and getting my clothes washed. Inbetween runs here, tho, I do have time to read and write.. all good stuff.

Ok Tom. It's been a while and there's SUCH an opportunity here that I just can't pass it up!!
find myself enjoying myself so much more!
I'm not even gonna say it though, cause the quote, I think, speaks for itself. And for goodness sakes, in a Peterbuilt??
WELCOME BACK Ya Old Fart!! I've actually missed ya! Glad to hear you're doing better now. You really do deserve it.
Also, if you ever pull up down here and will let me drive that rig just so I can say I've driven one, PLEASE clean up the "enjoying myself" part first!! :nana:
mrfixit
07-27-2007, 11:27 PM
Actually, Todd, the quote DOES speak for itself! How else can you really be happy until you find yourself enjoying who you are?
well, I know YOU might have trouble... so we'll let it ride!
I'm sure there will be a time I'll get by there, and with the PETERBILT. (note the spelling. its really spelled that way )
I have missed being here so much, tho... I think I'm addicted. And as for O'rattleban over there, he needs to find something else to gripe about. He's so testy ever since the great crash of '07, and '07, and '07, and.. well it's senseless to list them ALL...
