Question

The truck im getting have a good 351M.But it spark knocks.It did it when I had the truck before.What would cause it to do that?Thanks

If the engine is stock, most likely the timing is off a bit.

We put mid grade gas in it right now.It doesnt like the cheap stuff

When I get it home i will check the timing.What should it be set at?It is in a 78 ford F150

well if you want a little more power just retard the timing little by little till it quits spark knocking.

I believe it should be at 12-14* BTDC

Wouldn't a early timing gear and chain set the timing back to where it should be?

Well I finally got the truck home and checked the timing and it was at 4 degrees BTDC so I set it at 12 degrees BTDC and it runs alot better
